Specifying a vacuum pumping unit
A pumping unit is a matched set — pump, booster, valves, gauges, control and frame — commissioned as one machine rather than assembled on site. The value is in the matching: backing pump speed against booster displacement, crossover pressures, interlocks and the sequence that gets from atmosphere to base pressure without stalling or overheating anything.

What is included in a vacuum pumping unit?
A backing pump, usually a Roots booster, the interconnecting piping, isolation and bypass valves, gauges, a control panel and the frame — assembled, wired and tested as one unit. What you specify is the duty point; we size the components around it.
Why buy a unit instead of assembling the pumps myself?
Because the interlocks are where self-assembly usually goes wrong: the booster must not start before the backing pump has pulled the system down, the bypass must open on high differential pressure, and the valve must close on power loss. A tested skid has that logic built in and proven before it ships.
Can a unit be built for corrosive or explosive service?
Yes — corrosion-resistant wetted parts, purge gas, chemical-duty seals, and ATEX-rated motors and instrumentation where the zone requires it. Send the gas composition, temperature and area classification along with the duty point.
What information do you need to size a unit?
Chamber or process volume, target pressure, acceptable pump-down time, the gas load once at pressure (leaks, outgassing, process gas), gas composition and temperature, plus site utilities — voltage, frequency, cooling water availability.
