2G Iridium Ion Source Filament — Pfeiffer / Alcatel ASM 142, ASM 182, ASM 192 The bare iridium filament for the 2G analyser cell used in the Pfeiffer / Alcatel ASM 142, ASM 182 and ASM 192. Iridium is the material of choice here because it tolerates brief air exposure that would destroy a tungsten wire outright, and because it emits usefully at a lower temperature, which extends life in a machine that cycles many times a day. Order this when the filament alone has failed and the mount is sound. If the whole assembly is damaged — or if you would rather not work inside the cell — the complete filament assembly (053146 / 2000052200) drops in as one unit. Manufactured by Taixing. We can also re-weld an original 2G filament onto its existing mount where the mount is undamaged; that is usually the cheapest route on a machine that is otherwise healthy.
